Ashutosh Chadha, Director, Corporate Affairs Group, Intel South Asia, said, “Young student innovators who compete at IRIS perform beyond our expectations and this year is no exception. The aim of IRIS has always been to highlight the capabilities and accomplishments of students in India and Intel’s contribution towards the Indian growth story. The increase in research based project entries year after year at IRIS, indicate the talent available in India.”
At IRIS 2012, 111 projects were selected from a total of 2036 research-based projects submitted by students from across the country and were evaluated on research merits.
The four-day event was aimed at promoting and nurturing science and scientific research amongst young Indian innovators, recognizing and rewarding outstanding projects and providing a platform for these winning students to represent India at the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) in the U.S. Intel ISEF brings together more than 1,600 high school students from 65 countries, regions, and territories to display their independent research and compete for global recognition, in addition to more than US$4 million in prizes and scholarships.
