|
The E-week will be carried out so as to create awareness and educate kids about E-Waste wherein there will be a workshop on E-Waste along with the Quiz. The Workshop will help the kids to gain insight about E-waste –meaning, Constituents, health hazards, E-Waste Recycling etc. and the right way to dispose of the E-Waste. The Kids from Class 2nd-5th will be participating in the workshop.
There will also be a collection drive contest in the school so as to create the enthusiasm in the kids to collect the maximum of the E-Waste and the Class which will collect the maximum E-Waste would be awarded. The collection bins will be placed at various places in the schools and the parents will also be informed about the collection drive so as they can help their kids in bringing the Electronic Waste in the school.
Attero is also organizing a Poster making Contest on the theme of E-Waste Recycling; where in the kids with the best theme will be awarded the Trophy. The Students are informed about the E-Week through Posters, Mailers and Notice on the Notice Board of the School.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nitin Gupta, CEO, Attero Recycling said “We are pleased to join hands with The Shri Ram School, Delhi as the issue of Electronic Waste has been plaguing the society and it’s high time to take steps towards addressing this issue. We at Attero believe awareness and collection is the first step towards managing e-waste and hence we have launched this programme. It is good to see schools like The Shri Ram School, Delhi embracing their responsibility toward the environment for a greener and better tomorrow. We hope more and more kids realize this and come forth and do their bit for the society.” Attero is keen to organize such more events so as to teach the youth of our Country about E-Waste and to promote E-cycling!
According to various research reports India’s e-waste generation is growing at the rate of 15% and is expected to cross 800,000 tonne mark by 2012. By 2015, 2 billion PCs are expected to invade our homes and our mobile subscriber base is expected to be about 450 million subscribers. Attero has stepped into the space to address this issue in an environmentally friendly manner.
