A.P. Mahesh Bank Deploys VMware Zimbra Collaboration Suite

VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, today announced that A.P. Mahesh Co-operative Urban Bank has deployed the VMware Zimbra® Collaboration Suite to help the bank take advantage of an enterprise-class email, calendar and collaboration solution. With 39 branches across the country, the Hyderabad-based A.P. Mahesh Co-operative Urban Bank Ltd. is India's premier co-operative financial institution with diversified banking products. With growing complexity and limited support, administering multiple mail servers for the bank’s branches was a challenge.

“We have been successfully using VMware products that have helped us improve the performance and scalability of our IT environment, which has in turn enabled our business with the flexibility and agility we require in the banking sector,” said Shri. Mahesh Bank. “As our operations grew, we were looking for a solution that could help us address the challenges we were facing with our existing mail environment and evaluated many options before deploying VMware Zimbra®. The move to the Zimbra platform has helped us save on capital and operational expenses without compromising functionality,” he added.
A.P. Mahesh Bank deployed VMware Zimbra Collaboration Suite, an enterprise-class email, calendar and collaboration solution to replace its existing messaging solution that was growing complex to manage. The business-critical solution has also been deployed on VMware vSphere®, the industry-leading virtualization and cloud infrastructure platform that can deliver high availability, disaster recovery and backup for the solution, helping protect it against hardware disruptions. “Helping AP Mahesh Bank transition to the VMware Zimbra® platform has been a very rewarding experience for us.
